Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This website also uses localStorage and sessionStorage, which are browser storage mechanisms. Technical tools support navigation, language selection, page transitions and preference storage. External videos are optional and remain blocked without consent.
Technical tools
- pll_language: a first-party cookie managed by Polylang to remember Italian or English. Duration: one year; expiry may be renewed when you visit the website.
- polot-media-consent-v1: first-party localStorage storing your acceptance or refusal of YouTube videos, choice date, expiry, notice version and how you made your choice. It contains no visitor identifier and is not sent by the banner to an analytics service. Your choice lasts six calendar months and is not extended by visiting pages. An expired or invalid entry is removed on the next check. Browsers do not automatically delete localStorage while the website is not open. Valid choices from the previous version are respected.
- polot-page-transition and polot-language-transition: first-party sessionStorage holding the destination and navigation time for page and language animations. Entries are normally removed when the destination loads; a transition is valid for only 15 seconds. Any remaining entry is limited to the tab session.
- wpEmojiSettingsSupports: WordPress sessionStorage for emoji display support. It remains within the tab session unless cleared by your browser; this website does not use it to profile visitors.
- WordPress login cookies: the restricted area may use wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-* and wp-settings-time-* for cookie testing, authentication and CMS preferences. They are not required to view public pages. Duration depends on the session, the option to stay logged in and restricted-area settings. WordPress documentation.
These technical tools do not require consent for their necessary functions. No analytics tools or advertising pixels are integrated in the verified public configuration. New integrations will require a new check and an updated notice.
Optional YouTube videos
Provider: Google/YouTube. Consent is requested to load embedded videos, not for ordinary navigation. No external YouTube players or thumbnails load before your choice. Accepting, or enabling YouTube in preferences and saving, connects your browser to www.youtube-nocookie.com. The player may also contact Google domains, ytimg.com, gstatic.com and googleapis.com, and process your IP address, device information and video interactions.
Privacy-enhanced mode does not guarantee absence of processing or provider storage. Testing identified player-context localStorage entries ytidb::LAST_RESULT_ENTRY_KEY, with an internal expiry of approximately 30 days, and yt-icons-last-purged, for which no declared expiry was observed. These entries may remain until cleared by the provider or the user. The list can vary with service version, browser and whether you are signed in to Google.
Google also describes cookies its services may use, including YSC (session), __Secure-YNID (6 months), __Secure-YENID (13 months), PREF (8 months) and __Secure-ROLLOUT_TOKEN (6 months). They are not necessarily all installed by this website’s player: actual presence depends on context. Current purposes and durations are available in Google’s technology notice. Choosing and withdrawing
The banner offers Reject, Accept and Customize. Rejecting or closing the banner leaves videos disabled; scrolling or continuing to browse is not acceptance. In preferences, YouTube stays disabled until you enable it and save. You can browse without accepting.
The Cookie preferences button in the footer lets you reopen the panel, check your choice and withdraw consent. Withdrawal removes existing players and blocks them on subsequent visits. It does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing or erase data already received or storage already set by Google. You can manage these using browser settings and Google privacy controls.
If your browser prevents storage, your choice applies only on the current page. Videos remain blocked when JavaScript is disabled. If you clear browser storage, the website cannot know your previous choice and displays the banner again.
