PANETTONE: A TASTE OF ITALIAN CHRISTMAS

Glass bottle - 700 ml

Panettone is a typical Italian dessert that was invented in the XV century at the court of Ludovico il Moro, a Duke of Milan. When the head chef of the Duke’s kitchen was commissioned to prepare a sumptuous Christmas lunch, he forgot the cake in the oven, having it burned. So, a young kitchen porter named Toni told the desperate cook: «I have baked this cake with what was left in the pantry – flour, butter, eggs, citron peel and raisins. You can use it». Surprisingly, all of Ludovico il Moro’s guests were enthusiastic about the dessert and when the Duke asked the cook what the name of that delicacy was, he replied: «L’è ‘l pan del Toni», which means “It’s the bread of Toni”.
POLOT 1882 panettone syrup tastes just like an Italian Christmas: sweet, soft and tender.
