Cassis

Currants can be red, white or black and they are all delicious. However, it is with blackcurrants that Cassis is produced: A sweet, dark red liqueur that can be used to make several cocktails or served as an after-dinner liqueur. In Italy, blackcurrants grow chiefly in the mountains and they are picked in summer to make tasty jams or jellies, to garnish desserts and to be served along with fresh cheese such as ricotta.
