Torrone
TORRONE: THE OLDEST CHRISTMAS DESSERT
Glass bottle - 700 ml
Although torrone is said to have Arab origins, today it is the city of Cremona, in Northern Italy, that boasts the title of “homeland of torrone”. According to legend, the dessert was served for the first time in 1441 at the wedding of Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti. Some egg whites were added to the Arab recipe, made with honey, sugar and almonds, and the modern torrone was born.
