Cheese Cake

It is said that in Ancient Greece, during the first Olympic Games in 776 BC, athletes were served with an energizing cake made with sheep milk cheese and honey. When the Romans conquered Greece, they were in turn conquered by the dessert and they took it to Europe. Centuries later, the cake made it to the U.S. and, thanks to some improvements, the modern cheesecake was born. Butter and biscuits build the crust on which a creamy blend of cream cheese, sugar and eggs is laid down and is in turn covered with chocolate, wild berries or caramel.
