Lychee

Lychee is a tropical and subtropical fruit native to China and Southeast Asia. Here, it was cultivated as early as 2000 BC and it was said to be among the most prized delicacies at the Chinese imperial court. The redder the skin, the better the fruit. The flesh, on the other hand, is white and juicy and can be eaten fresh, with other fruits or used to prepare sorbets.
